The Gaddie's unit is by far the very best in the Waikoloa area. The Gaddie home is beautiful and very comfortable. The backyard faces the golf course and faces north so you don't have the intense sun beating on the deck. It was pleasant sitting on her lani in the evening. Her unit is ideal to go to the Queen's shops. We enjoyed our stay and hope to come back next year. – Helen19, Greely, CO • Stayed: June 2009 • Submitted: June 25, 2009

We had a wonderful stay at J-4. Exactly as described. The kitchen was a dream to work in, accommodating many cooks without spoiling the broth. It was extremely well equipped - extra dishes, Pyrex containers with lids, sandwich containers, coffee grinder - all came in very handy. Good supply of spices, and the opportunity to use the condiments in the fridge was gratefully appreciated. The availability of a computer and wi-fi connection were a definite bonus. Washer & dryer were very efficient. Comfortably furnished lanai. The unit had a very spacious and roomy feeling. The layout and tiled flooring on the main floor were well thought out. Overall, we had a wonderful 10 days in paradise. We would definitely recommend this unit. Mahalo! – Jean C.,Kamloops & Vancouver, BC • Stayed: September 2009 • Submitted: September 3, 2009

This condo is absolutely fabulous. We vacationed for 9 nights in November with our 2.5 year old daughter and loved every minute. The condo is very clean, comfortable, and spacious. Our daughter loved playing on the grass while we had coffee on the lanai each morning. The Queen's shops were very convenient for our morning coffee at Starbucks and grocery shopping. Be sure to thumb through the "snorkeling" book on the table by the dining room table. It pointed us to some great locations and pin-pointed exactly where to snorkel at each beach. We visited the Marriott pools with no problems and we paid $80 another day for our family to hangout at the Hilton. If you check in after it's dark like we did, be sure to bring a flashlight to make finding and reading they key box easier. We'll be back for sure. Hopefully soon. :) • Stayed: November 2009 • Submitted: November 28, 2009

Holiday in Paradise

Our three week stay at the Waikoloa Beach Villas was everything we had hoped for. It was true to its presentation on VRBO. The surrounding grounds of the property are quite beautiful and the two pools fulfilled our need to keep cool in the 82F weather. Shopping is good at both Kings and Queens Market and very handy to the Villa, which are within walking distance to the Villas (just across the street). Grocery shopping is expensive at Queens, so be prepared to spend a little more for your regular items and essentials. Popular stores such as Costco and Target are in Kona for added shopping. It was great having internet capability and the provided hardware setup. Lots to do in and around Kona, but a car is certainly essential for touring. Would definitely recommend horseback riding, Dolphin Quest at The Hilton and the two semi-private beaches close by (beach pass required). Check out your options in the handy book that Michelle has in the unit. It provides everything you need to know and more. All in all, a fun and pleasant stay in the Villas. It's a very comfortable unit with lots of open space and the beautiful view of the golf course from all the patios is spectacular. – Michael D., Calgary, Alberta, Canada • Stayed: March 2010 • Submitted: April 1, 2010 • Source: VRBO Recommended for: Families with young children, Sightseeing, Age 55+, Families with teenagers

Gaddie Condo

The Gaddie condo was gorgeous just like the pictures. I was so impressed with how clean the condo was right down to the details! I am extremely fussy and could not find fault with anything. We really enjoyed the lanai and having our own grill. It was nice not having to walk to the pool area to wait in line to use the grill. We had a great vacation and would recommend this condo to anyone looking for luxury at an affordable price. We came back from this beautiful condo last week. I was skeptical all the 5 star reviews, but now I confirmed that this condo is the true paradise. We had a really good time there, and We will definitely go back to this condo! The house is beautifully furnished by Hawaiian theme. The kitchen had everything I needed. We loved the back yard too... It was big and safe, 3 little children could run around without any worries. You see birds and little animals sometimes. The pool in the property was kid friendly too. The villa was very quiet at night and nobody disturbed our sleeps. Finally, I wants to thank Michelle for her professional communication. Thank you so much for sharing you lovely condo in the Waikoloa Beach Villas with us. It was truly a great experience staying in such a clean and well appointed home. My family loved the layout and the location. To be able to stroll across the street to the Queen's Marketplace in the morning for coffee, or later for lunch, dinner or shopping, was a great perk. The entire Waikoloa Village was beautiful and great for those early morning power walks. We would love to return considering the great value you get staying here. Thank you Gaddies! Home away from Home

My family (seven of us) shared the Gaddie's lovely Waikaloa condo in early October and it was a wonderful experience for all. We were able to use this lovely home as a base for exploring the many charms of the Big Island including the lovely beach, golf course and historical ruins of Waikoloa itself. Although Waikoloa has nice restaurants, we prepared wonderful family meals in the condo's large kitchen and on the gourmet gas grill on the lanai. Convenient grocery shopping is just across the street at the Queen's shopping village and Kamuela Liquors in nearby Waimea has the best wine selection on the island. Many thanks to the Gaddie's for providing their wonderful home at a very affordable rate. – Bob from Honolulu, Hawaii • Stayed: September 2010 Recommended for: People with disabilities, Families with young children, Sightseeing, Adventure seekers, Age 55+, Romantic getaway, Families with teenagers

Home away from home!

The Gaddie's lovely home is even better in person than the online pictures indicate. It was beautifully decorated and comfortable, spotless, very private, quiet, beautifully situated and landscaped, and suited our needs perfectly. Our party consisted of 4 adults attending a family function. The condo was a good driving distance from the venue. We did most of our shopping for groceries, etc. at the gourmet market at The Queen's Shops, which are literally steps from the Waikoloa Beach Villas. We did not find the prices out of line with what we would pay for similar items in Vancouver, Canada. Restaurants in the area were plentiful and we enjoyed all that we tried. The condo kitchen was very well equipped, and it is a bonus to have the outdoor kitchen attached to the unit, complete with top of the line BBQ. Many of the other condo developments in Waikoloa do not allow private BBQs--you need to share facilities at their pool or amenities centre, so if you like to BBQ, this is a great place. Plentiful beach toys and equipment supplied and housed in private garage. We recently rented the Gaddie condo and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful and practical layout. The condo is very sound proof and the landscaping and 2 pool areas are quiet and gorgeous. The kitchen is easy for many to use at the same time and very well outfitted. I would suggest asking the owners about how to use the air conditioning before you arrive as this was our only difficulty. It is a great location for day trip and shopping. Great shops all around. Do not believe the reviews about shopping in the gourmet supermarket across the street. It is very very expensive. Wonderful stay on the Big Island

I normally don't write reviews, but I felt compelled to write about our positive experience at this condo. Multiple bedrooms worked well for our extended family and the open kitchen/eating/family area gave us plenty of space without tripping over each other. The lanai was a popular spot for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful weather. The condo was clean and the furnishings were well maintained. We felt like we were in someone's home. The location also worked well for us due to the proximity to 2 beaches - A-Bay and Mauna Kea. A-Bay is within walking distance and Mauna Kea was a short drive away. We arrived at the condo a few days after the tsunami and A-bay had more clean-up. Therefore, most of our beach time was at Mauna Kea. There are a limited number of parking spots, so go early. We used the beach towels, cooler, beach chairs and boogie boards from the condo. The boys experimented with the boogie boards and had a blast. The condo is located across from the Queen's Shops and next to the King's shops. Both have a variety of stores and restaurants which worked well for an ice cream or coffee stop, picking up a few souveniers or shopping for clothing or jewelry. The boys also loved the resort swimming pool. The condo is close enough that it was a short walk, but not so close as to have pool noise. This location was perfect for us as we were looking for something outside of downtown Kona yet close enough to the beaches and other activities. Overall, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay at the condo and on the Big Island! – Sara E., Iowa • Stayed: March 2011 • Submitted: April 5, 2011 Recommended for: Families with young children, Age 55+, Families with teenagers

Lovely townhome on Kohola Coast!!

Our family just enjoyed a fabulous vacation in Hawaii staying in this great townhouse. Had plenty of room for our 5 plus my parents, who liked the bedroom on the ground floor. The pullout couch is upstairs in a study area between the master bedroom and another bedroom with two single beds, which meant that the kids could all fall asleep upstairs and the grown ups could still use the living area. Great kitchen, easy walk to the Kings shops & Queens Market. You can also walk to A-beach, although the resort area seems to prefer if you drive (no sidewalk on part of the walk). Very clean, modern, nice bathrooms & well-stocked kitchen. Very short drives to fantastic beaches. We made lots of use of the beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, and the grill on the back patio. The place was very clean and well stocked with cooking needs, towels, beach paraphernalias, etc. The owners were very helpful and promptly called us back when we had a question. Further, the directions for the house they provided to us were very easy to follow. The place was pretty much accessible to beaches,sight-seeing, shopping and the Kona International Airport. We pretty much were able to see the whole island during our stay. The Sensei restaurant across the street was very good. Although, the supermarket (I couldn't recall the name) was very expensive. Delightful Waikoloa Property

We loved our stay at the Waikoloa Beach Villas. Walking distance (or shuttle from Queens Marketplace) to the entire area. Great restaurants, beach, shopping. The condo itself was very nicely furnished, quiet, peaceful. Lots of special touches like dvd's, coffee, tea, condiments, spices, beach toys, umbrella, chairs, towels and everything we needed for a great week. The binder of local info/menus was helpful as well. Great value. Would have slept 6-8 comfortably. We only had 4 and one bedroom and bath went unused empty. Pool is small but very nice and not crowded. No fighting for a lounger like at the hotels. We loved our dinner at the Beach Tree Restaurant at the Four Seasons, but also the Macaroni Grill across the street and even the food court. Made a nightly walk to the Marble Slab (closes at 9:24 PM) for unbelievable ice cream. Hua was our favorite beach just 5 minutes north of the airport. Great Waikoloa Villa

This is a beautiful, clean, comfortable and well maintained villa close to great beaches, dining and shopping. Additionally it is a fully equipped end unit (light and bright) with attractive (not tacky) Hawaiian decor in a very nice gated community. This was the first time my husband and I rented a condo, we normally stay at the local resorts (Hapuna Prince or Hilton) however you cannot beat these accommodations especially for the price!!! The extra room, the conveniences of having a kitchen, multiple bathrooms and a living room to just relax in without having to sit on a bed was wonderful. Plus staying here will actually save you money since you don't have to eat out 3 times a day or pay for parking miles away from your room. We will definitely return!!! The outlook from both the patios and the MBr balcony is delightful, and our grandchildren, who spent a week with us, enjoyed playing in the grounds and in the two well-maintained pools available to us. The house lacked for nothing in the way of equipment.and the owners had even left some provisions for our arrival as well as a friendly Aloha. Unless only interested in shopping and golf, both of which are within easy walking distance, guests need a car not only to explore the Big Island's varied scenery, but to get to the nearby beach with all the beach equipment that young children (and adults) need, and which was generously supplied. A lock up garage is provided. – Mcgillrpof, Montreal, Canada • Stayed: January 2013 • Submitted: March 3, 2013 Recommended for: Families with young children, Sightseeing, Age 55+, Families with teenagers

Truly Enjoyed Your Condo! Thank You So Much!

Our annual girls golf week brought us to Big Island this year and I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to stay in this amazing condo. What a great choice we made! The condo is beautiful. The descriptions in VRBO are very accurate. It was very clean, spacious and accommodating to all our needs. It felt very much like home to us for the week. We could not ask for more. When booking the condo and before our arrival, I did have a couple of questions and Michelle was so quick to respond. Great customer service! The Beach Villas property is very nice and quiet! The pool area and other amenities are very nice. And a very easy walk to the Queens Marketplace and Kings Shopping. Very comfortable and accessible to all other areas within Waikoloa Resort. We played golf everyday (7 rounds) at different courses and was very accessible to all areas of the Kona Coast and Kailua Kona. We'll definitely be staying here again on our next golf vacation on Big Island. I already look forward to it! We loved your place.....thank you so much! – Robin K. • Stayed: April 2013 • Submitted: May 10, 2013 Recommended for: Families with young children, Pet owners, Sightseeing, Girls getaway, Adventure seekers, Age 55+, Families with teenagers

Family Reunion

The condo exceeded our expectations. It was a great spot for family members flying in from different locations for the half Iron Man race on June 1st. Our parents stayed with us, and they enjoyed the walk to the Queens Marketplace for shopping or Starbucks, as well as the walk down to the beach by the Lava Lava Club. I enjoyed being right on the Beach golf course (of course). The proximity of the condo to both the Queens and Kings shops was very convenient, as we ate out several nights and on other nights we did our shopping at the Island Market across the street and cooked in or barbequed out back. Excellent location and beautifully furnished. I will definitely stay there again. – Carl, Anchorage, AK • Stayed: May 2013 • Submitted: June 12, 2013 Recommended for: Families with young children, Sightseeing, Girls getaway, Tourists without a car, Adventure seekers, Age 55+, Romantic getaway, Families with teenagers

Great vacation condo for family

We just spent 4 nights here and had a wonderful time. The condo was perfect for our family of four. It was clean and well furnished, with well stocked kitchen equipment. We enjoyed cooking in the gourmet kitchen and using the grill. The on-site pool is very nice and close by. The condo is well located on the Kohala coast, close to A-Bay, Hapuna Beach and other spots on the northern coast. We also visited Waipio Valley and Mauna Kea which were a reasonable drive away. The condo is within walking distance of the Kings & Queens Shops and restaurants, which was very convenient. The Gaddies were very helpful in answering questions and responding quickly. I would recommend this location for families or groups visiting the Kohala Coast. – Amy B. • Stayed: August 2013 • Submitted: August 15, 2013 Recommended for: Families with young children, Girls getaway, Families with teenagers

Beautiful Waikoloa

We had a wonderful time during our stay at this property. It was the perfect size for our family of five, including two teenagers. The house was clean and well appointed. It looked just like the photos. It is located very close to the beach which you can walk along, swim, snorkel and rent equipment to use within the beach area. Further up the beach, turtles come up to sun themselves. We also drove around the island to Volcano National Park and along Saddle Road to the visitor center on Mauna Kea to see the stars. The whole family really enjoyed both. The drive to Volcano National Park is 2-3 hours, but I think it's worthwhile to stay in the beautiful Waikoloa area and make this a day trip. Would definitely recommend this home. - Anonymous • Stayed: August 2013 • Submitted: September 17, 2013 Recommended for: Families with young children, Sightseeing, Adventure seekers, Families with teenagers

Truly a "home away"!

We've stayed at various vacation rentals over the years and often we find we don't care to spend too much time in them - being obviously decorated for renters and not always such a "home". But this lovely home was so comfortable and beautiful. Especially the master bedroom - it was like an oasis with it's own lanai and the best bed we've ever slept in! Five adults stayed in the house - and no one got in each others' way or woke anyone else up. The location is perfect for a family with varying interests: beach lovers had A-Bay (and everything we needed for the beach right in the garage!), shoppers had The Shops, and travel to other parts of the Island was very convenient (and we saw it all!). And it was such a quick hop in the car to catch the most amazing sunsets across A-Bay, especially from a table at Lava Lava Beach Club. And from the parking lot, you even have amazing views of the sun rising between Mauna Kea and Hualalai, with Mauna Loa in the background. Over all, the home surpassed our expectations and we would definitely return if we visit with a large group again. – Elizabeth R. • Stayed: December 2013 • Submitted: December 21, 2013 Recommended for: Sightseeing, Age 55+

Better than a postcard!

My family and I arrived in the afternoon of our check in day to a spotless, beautiful condo...what a treat! We saw sunrise through the blinds of the master bedroom and most of the sunset from the backyard. The owner left us a bag of coffee, so our first morning started off right! The local grocery is expensive here and the dining out options for a family aren't amazing for the price. But, that's not why we came to Hawaii. We were comfortably able to travel to Volcanoes National Park from here...use the new highway, rt 200 aka Saddle Rd, hike, and return the same day. We loved walking to A-Bay from the house, walking to the grocery store, walking to breakfast one morning at the Marriott, etc. Very nice to leave the car in the garage!!! Only one small complaint...we didn't bring our snorkel gear because the website said it was provided. Only one of our party of six had a working set. Googles are leaky, clips missing, etc. At least the adult stuff needs to be replaced, or not mentioned in the home description. I would stay here again, and again, and again!!! Nice Place

We really enjoyed our stay here. 7 of us stayed comfortably in the place. All the amenities are really great. It was nice being close to the beach and several good snorkeling spots. A few suggestions though: 1) The alarm clocks are WAY WAY WAY too complicated. Mine went off at 5 AM the first night even though I didn't set it. Not a good start to the day. Then I could not figure out how to stop it or stop it from going off again. I had to keep it in the garage while I was there so it wouldn't wake me up again. It had battery backup so I couldn't just unplug it (which I had tried). In another bedroom it went off at 6 AM and my sister had the same issue. Get simple alarm clocks. 2) A few yard toys would be nice. Maybe bocce ball and a frisbee. Not necessary, but it would be nice. 3) Some more relevant info in the information book would be nice. For example, a property map with details of the area. Also a map of the local area with highlighted path on best way to walk to the beach. Maybe some other important things highlighted. Maybe a map of the beach with recommended snorkeling spots. – Paul H. • Stayed: July 2014 • Submitted: July 17, 2014

A place you would call Home a 5+ rating

This Town home is a Luxury to spend time in and beats any hotel suite. We were there for our wedding and it met and exceeded all our expectations for living and spending time with guests. The place is very very clean, well decorated, lots of space and we never felt cramped in any way. Beds and the furniture very comfortable. The Lani's were big with lots of room. BBQ right there so it made it very convenient for cooking. Shops walking distance away and a short walk to the beaches. The pool area very clean. The place had everything you need and before you go shopping check to see the spices and other things as it is very very well stocked and appliances are 1st rate. It also has all the beach toys, chairs and goodies. I would recommend this property to anyone who needs space, Clean, and wants a place that is a real home away from home with no hassles. Excellent kitchen for real cooking

This was our fourth trip to Waikoloa. We had a great stay at this property. The floor plan is light and airy and beautifully decorated. It was very clean. We have never stayed in a unit with a garage and we loved the feature. It was so nice not to have to unpack the car after each trip to the beach. But for us the best feature was the kitchen where you can really cook. We love to cook and usually find rentals have a kitchen with lots of dishware but only one skillet, a couple of pans, and dull knifes for cooking. Not this unit! There was an excellent number of different size pots and skillets which were in good condition. There was every kitchen tool needed including glass and plastic measuring cups and measuring spoons. The kitchen appliances included a waffle maker, rice cooker, large and small crock pots, four slice toaster, good blender, and more. Also having the gas BBQ right outside the door was wonderful. We highly recommend this unit. -The Williams Family, Lake Oswego, Oregon Stayed: January 2016 Submitted: February 2, 2016 Recommended for: Families with young children, Sightseeing, Adventure seekers
